Estudio Guardabosques based in Buenos Aires, Argentina is a world famous Origami studio which is getting universal recognition. A couple, Juan and Carolina own and operate the studio. The couple craft incredible figures with paper. Recently they were invited by DN & Co to exhibit their paper aviary at St James London in London.
“We are very pleased to have been invited to exhibit our paper birds at St James London in London, UK. It is a collaboration with the talented DN & CO who took care of carrying out the whole project, and has more than 100 birds that we designed specially for the occasion, embellished with iconic fashion frames made by them,” they say.
A little history of paper aviaries
The paper aviary takes its inspiration from the collection of exotic birds that had Charles II, which was located in the heart of St James’s Park during the 1600s.
The exhibition also refers to the heritage of St James’ style and craftsmanship. Each handmade bird has a plumage with a pattern inspired by the fashion houses and artisans of the area.
The crow’s feet, the moles are taken from the frames of brands like John Smedley, Turnbull & Asser and Aquascutum, that give life to each bird. In order to finish enriching the experience, the exhibition listens to a soundtrack made with songs from the different birds.
