The famous photographer Thibaud Poirier, since last year has been traveling across Europe just to take photos of the world’s most inspiring libraries.
He has photographed the whole series which includes both historic and contemporary libraries and their beautiful interiors.
They are novel and ancient models of prime architect genius. Poirier photographed every image when there was no one around to capture the magnificence without hurdles.
A fragment from his statement about the project:
Like fingerprints, each architect crafted his vision for a new space for this sacred self-exploration. These seemingly minute details are everywhere, from the balance of natural and artificial light to optimise reading yet preserve ancient texts to the selective use of studying tables to either foster community or encourage lonely reflection. The selection of these libraries that span space, time, style and cultures were carefully selected for each one’s unique ambiance and architectural contribution.
So far he has captured 25 libraries on lens and says he is craving to add more to the series.
