When we talk about old photographs we will always think about them as black and white. But color photography had been around earlier than what we think.
Before 1907 if anyone wanted a color photograph than a professional colorist had to color it. Then two french brothers,Auguste and Louis Lumiere introduced a technique which they called Autochrome Lumiere. They were able to produce beautiful colored photographs without the help of any colorization Despite being somewhat expensive this process became very popular.
But soon after Kodak invented Kodachrome film in 1935, which was a lighter and more convenient version. After some time Kodachrome was overtaken by digital photography which is nowadays the most efficient way for photography. But we have to keep this in mind that all this advancement in photographic technology has been made possible due to the hard-work of the early pioneers Auguste and Louis Lumiere.
Let’s have a look at the collection of some amazing century old photographs using this technology.
