According to BBC – The Hurricane Irma eye just hit Florida’s South and West as a category 4 storm, forecasters say.
The storm lashes at the low-lying Keys with strong winds reaching 130mph (209km/h).
Florida Governor Rick Scott is deeply worried and “very concerned” about the state’s western Gulf Coast, where the storm is about to head next.
More than 6.3 million people had been warned in Florida were advised to evacuate, with a “life-threatening” warning due to storm surge. A half million homes have been without power and it is difficult to say when they are going to get a relief.
Irma was already reported to have devastated various parts of the Caribbean with at least 25 deaths.

A gush of extreme winds, around the eye of the hurricane Irma , are to last ‘for the next two hours’ according to National Weather Center, in the Lower Florida Keys area, which includes Key West.
