Though the children were grown up and quite responsible but Paul Bender still had those protective instincts for them that every parent has. In his younger days Paul Blender had served his city with distinction and had been one of Brooklyn’s finest cops. He had set a very good example for his children who also joined the same profession.
Police Kids:
Paul Bender was proud of his children who had both joined he police force and had done well. But even though he knew that both were well=accomplished and capable of themselves, he still worried about them.
Work Problems:
Jill was having some problems at work and Paul knew instinctively that something was wrong.
The Culprit:
Jill finally gave in and told her father that a fellow officer, by the name of Robert Selman was stalking her.
The Offense:
Robert Selman had been fired a month earlier for defying his senior’s orders. Robert Selman worked at the same office as Jill and he had developed a certain interest in Jill.
Dangerous Obsession:
Selman was so enamored with Jill Bender that soon it developed into an obsession. And Jill’s continuous rebuttals only intensified it.
Lurking Predators:
With time Selman’s obsession intensified and he started stalking Jill and making obsence phone calls at her place.
Not Guilty:
When this went on for quite sometime Jill filed an official complaint and the matter went to court. But here Selman’s attorney pleaded not guilty and Selman was acquitted.
Paul Bender:
Even after his attorney’s instructions, to stay away from Jill Bender, Selman continued his harassment. Here Paul Bender who have had enough decided to have a meeting with Selman. With the intention to talk some sense into the guy Paul went to Selman’s apartment, but shot him with the revolver he was carrying.
Dead on Arrival:
When the police arrived on the crime scene they found Selman dead, he had been shot six times.
Fleeing:
Just few blocks away from the crime scene police found the dead body of Paul who had died from a massive heart failure. As according to one of his neighbors,” He’s a calm guy, one who had pride and respect. I knew he would never put up with garbage”.
