The saying,’Age is just a number’ rings so true because its not when you were born actually tell our age. But how young and healthy one is from within really defines how young a person really is. Below are some facts that tell us why it is so.

According to a study in the journal Molecular Cell it was discovered that the HIV patients aged rapidly These people were more susceptible to age-related diseases, in fact five years earlier than their non-infected peers. It is not clear yet as to what is the cause.
So what is one’s biological age and how is it different from the chronological kind?
Our biological age is determined by how healthy a person is and how close or far away our organs are from the age related conditions. So one’s biological age is a far better indicator of how healthy you are than your age in years.

Actually telomeres determine the life=span of a cell. They are present at the ends of the chromosomes and protect them from deterioration. So the longer your life span is the shorter will be your telomeres.

Methylation aids in the process of cell differentiation and this is why a heart cell and brain cell can be coded the same but they function differently.

Breast tissue is known to be one of the most mature parts of the body. A woman’s breasts can actually be three or more years older than the rest of her.

And now for some good news:
Human heart tissue is found to be younger than the rest of the parts of the body. Stem cells are often recruited to help create new cardiac muscle.
Hopefully with these studies, researchers can discover new therapies to treat related diseases, and might even find ways to undo aging itself.
