LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. – A truck was overturned carrying slime eels on Highway 101. The highway was blocked due to the eels which were in thousands covered the roadway.
According to the reports a truck driver from Lincoln City failed to stop the truck he was driving when a worker of Oregon Department of Transportation waved him to. He was carrying 7,500 pounds of slime eels on Highway 101.
As he tried to stop the truck the excessive weight caused one of the containers go off the truck flying into the southbound lanes. The remaining fell and spilled into the highway.
Oregon State Police department says that the actions shall be taken against the truck driver who spilled the slime eels in the Highway 101 on Thursday after crushing the truck.
The Police said, they have been conducting an investigation into the matter and about the enforcement.
The Highway was cleared off, the police said the eels are still by the side of the road.
