Fyodor Makhnov was world known because of his unusual height. He weighed about 182 kg (around 400 lbs), his stature was 285 cm (9’4″)! A twelve-year old kid could have easily sit in his boot.

1 The Birth
He was born on June 6, 1878 in a village near Vitebsk (now Belarus). In a very poor family.

2 The Childhood
Neither his parents nor his relatives were giants. His mother died giving birth to him because he was too big. His other relatives were tall too, even taller than average people but not giants like him. His grandfather brought him up.

3 The Work
At first he grew like any other normal kid. After eight years of age he started to grow at extreme pace. When he was twelve he was already two meter tall. His feet was 51 cm and his palm was 32 cm. Besides he wielded immense strength – he could easily lift a grown up man from the ground or pull a loaded cart up the hill alone, like most horses do. The local landlord hired him to clean the river from the huge boulders and he did that job alone and did it well.
